Paisley perfect.

  • Dress: Maurices
  • Shoes: Payless
  • Bag: Maurices

I usually think maxi dresses are cute on other people, but I've not been too sure of how they would work for me. Earlier this summer I was out shopping with my wife one day and we saw this dress, and she thought it would be perfect for me even if its not exactly a maxi dress, since we had been talking about trying one out. She was so right about the dress, and I love what it does to my figure. Even better, this dress makes me want to dance. Well, I also have to add that wearing a tuxedo makes me want to dance too, but that's not what this post is about ;). I also have a secret to confess: while I have discovered more and more how much I enjoy purses, one reason I pose with them so often is so I have something to do with my hands. I also have to add, the style bloggers I've interacted with are some of the nicest people I've ever talked too! And as usual my awesome wife took the pictures.

Just peachy.

  • Top: Maurices
  • Cardigan: Old Navy
  • Denim Pencil Skirt: Z. Cavaricci from Maurices
  • Shoes: Lela Rose for Payless
  • Bag: Target

Way too often I put together an outfit by starting with the shoes, and this outfit had to go through several revisions because the shoes were all wrong. At first I had a cami underneath the cardigan, but it was too dark and showed through, and the shoes(which were a nude color...) just looked weird. I grabbed this top, and tried mixing similar shades of the same color like I've seen other bloggers wear. And I just had to give up on the shoes, but this is another pair that I don't wear that often(I should, they're great, but they just never seem quite right when I reach for a pair of shoes...). And of course my amazing wife took the pictures.

Green with Envy(for Fall...).

  • Top: Maurices
  • White Skinny Jeans: Torrid
  • Shoes: Payless
  • Bag: Target

I think fashion rules are more fun when they are broken, but seeing some bloggers talk about "white after labor day" made me want to get in an outfit using my white skinny jeans I got this summer before Labor day. Unfortunately, if this heat keeps up, I certainly won't be starting with fall inspiration as soon as I would like too. I really love these shoes, especially the color, but they are a little too tight at times and I may have to get rid of them. That just means I can buy more shoes to replace them though.

This outfit tastes purple.

  • Top: Maurices
  • Capris: Maurices
  • Shoes: Nine West
  • Bag: Target

The end of this week has been a bit rough personally, and its been difficult to take some pictures. I think writing this style diary can be a way to leave some of that other stuff behind. I'm not sure if I can commit to a posting schedule, but I like feedback and I like the idea of posting at least once a week, and interacting with other bloggers. Hopefully I can do better than once a week. I enjoyed putting this outfit together, and I wasn't sure if it would work, but I think it does. My lovely wife took the pictures.

Summer days.

  • Top: Maurices
  • Capris: Maurices
  • Shoes: Torrid
  • Bag: Nine West

Some bloggers have already started talking about fall. Some lucky souls have even started wearing wearing pieces with a fall flair. Its way too hot here for that. Fall is one of my favorite seasons for fashion though, and I'm really looking forward to sharing some of my fall looks on here(having a daily style diary has turned out to be a blast so far!); however, today I will be dressing for summer in defiance of my own fall thoughts. I hope you enjoy. As always, my lovely wife took the pictures.

Playing with color.

  • Top: Torrid
  • Shorts: Torrid
  • Shoes: Torrid
  • Bag: Nine West

Yesterday, I saw another blogger use a blue and purple color combination and I thought it looked really nice, so today I tried this combo out. I'm not sure if it shows, but the shoes are a nice shade of purple, and it did complement the blues of the top nicely. I think I have some better blues and purples in my closet, so I will have to try those out next time.

Party Outfit.

  • Dress: Maurices
  • Cardigan: Torrid
  • Shoes: Nine West
  • Bag: Target

The other day, some friends had a party and invited a makeup consultant to do our colors and makeup. The party was an early summer afternoon to celebrate a birthday, and we all decided to dress up a bit for the party and dinner out after. The party was a lot of fun, and I got some wonderful compliments on the outfit.

French Friday

  • Dress: Target
  • Belt: Torrid
  • Shoes: Rack Room
  • Bag: Maurices
  • Beret: a military surplus store(old)

A couple of weeks ago my wife and I went shopping with some friends, and one of our friends spotted this dress. I tried it on, and it was perfect! I haven't had a chance to wear it until today. I already had the perfect shoes(this pair is a wee bit tight though, I may have to give them up), and when I was putting it together, I remembered this beret I bought several years ago at an old military surplus store. I'm pretty sure the guy thought I was weird for wanting a beret, but I think it looks fab with this outfit. The glasses are just for style, but I bought them on the cheap from an online store to see how they looked the last time I replaced my prescription glasses(I normally wear contacts) and thought they would make a good accessory even if they didn't work out. I ended up with a different prescription pair but I thought this pair really added to this outfit. My wonderful wife was the photographer.

Quirky Casual.

  • Top: Maurices
  • Pants: Maurices
  • Shoes: Payless
  • Bag: Target
  • Bracelets: Torrid
  • Necklaces: Maurices

This outfit was a casual bit I put together somewhat inspired by a friend and the excitement I had at recently finding some bracelets at Torrid that fit my wrists. I'm still learning to play with accessories and I've only recently started really trying to add them to my wardrobe. Maybe I overdid it? I had fun trying though. I'm also exploring adding more flats and low heeled shoes to my wardrobe, although I still love my excess of fabulous high heels. My wonderful wife took the pictures.

Skirting the issue.

  • Top: Walmart
  • Skirt: Maurices
  • Shoes: Payless

I really love this skirt, and I think the color of the pumps really works well with them. Unfortunately, like so many of my skirts, I have had a hard time figuring out tops that work well with them. This is one of my older shirts, and I picked it out for this outfit because it wasn't horrible, not because I thought it went well. The top came from a late night trip to Walmart because its not always easy shopping for clothes when you're a crossdresser. Its a lot easier now because of my wife's support and online shopping(ugh, but sizing is another matter entirely). A big problem I have with tops is that my shoulders are pretty wide, and once I find a size that fits my shoulders, the rest of the top is just too ill-fitted to wear. My wife was the photographer today.

My first outfit post.

  • Top: Maurices
  • Bottom: Maurices
  • Bracelet: Torrid
  • Purse: Maurices
  • Shoes: Payless
This is my first outfit post, I finally decided to brave it. Who knows if anyone will even read it. As you can see, I'm a big fan of Maurices. It helps that they were one of the first stores I discovered where I could find really cute stuff in my size. I have been branching out. Its funny, I really love dresses and skirts and have a ton of them, and yet I'm making my first post in blue jeans. My wife took the pictures for me.

Introduction.

I love women's fashion, and have a major shoe addiction. I love shopping and really enjoy putting together a cute outfit for any occasion. But life often throws curveballs, and mine is that I'm a male. I'm quite happy as a straight male though, so that's not the problem, I just like wearing women's clothing and looking pretty and feminine sometimes. In real life, as you might imagine, expressing this sense of style is often frowned upon. I won't say coming to terms with this interest was easy, or even that I've got it all figured out(or ever will...).

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this space. My wife and several of my real life friends are really cool with this, and that is great. But I have a lot of clothes, and I love putting together outfits. I also recently discovered style bloggers and daily outfit blogs. I am a bit of a frustrated artist, and one avenue to channel my frustrated creativity into is fashion. Since I am at a spot where I can often work from home, I am considering making this a bit of a style and outfit blog.

Of course, I want to keep this small and pseudonymous, and I won't be posting any pictures of my face or many details of my life outside of women's fashion, but maybe this is a way to let some of my creativity out. Unlike real life, on the internet, being a plain old crossdresser is downright boring and mundane. At this point,  I won't promise any sort of posting schedule, and I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to post pictures at all. I'm not even sure how I feel about using this account to follow other style bloggers. Ultimately, I'm a pretty boring regular guy who is happily married. Crossdressing is just one side of my personality, and its one I want to share because I'm trying to believe its a gift rather than a curse, but its not easy to share it in real life. And ultimately its pretty harmless as these things go. For my wife, it ultimately amounts to competition for closet space, and a husband who encourages shopping way too much.
